Danube bridge tolls in Romania
No bridge toll since 1 October 2026
Since 1 October 2026 you no longer pay a separate toll on the Danube bridges at Fetești–Cernavodă (A2), Giurgeni–Vadu Oii (DN2A) or Giurgiu–Ruse towards Ruse. A car needs only a valid vignette.
Checked on 7 October 2026.
| Bridge and road | Since 1 October 2026 | Before |
|---|---|---|
| Fetești–Cernavodă · A2 | No bridge toll | 19 RON a crossing, either direction |
| Giurgeni–Vadu Oii · DN2A | No bridge toll | 16 RON a crossing, either direction |
| Giurgiu–Ruse · DN5 | Towards Ruse: no Romanian toll. Towards Giurgiu: the Bulgarian side’s fee, €2 per car. | 15 RON, Giurgiu → Ruse only |
Unused prepaid crossings
Prepaid crossings left unused on 1 October 2026 are no longer valid, but the money can be claimed back from CNAIR, through CNAIR’s application only. CNAIR says the application will be available by 29 December 2026 and pays within 90 days of the claim.
Why there is no toll
The bridge toll rested on Government Ordinance 15/2002, which Law 226/2023 repealed; Law 103/2026 set the date to 1 October 2026. The tariff order in force since then sets only the vignette.
