Which Euro class your vehicle has
The price follows the Euro emission class written in the vehicle’s registration certificate. On EU registration certificates it is usually field V.9, the environmental category (for example “EURO 6”).
If the documents do not show the class, CNAIR charges the Euro 0–3 price. Electric vehicles have their own, lower price; what counts is the electric power source stated in the registration certificate (field P.3).
Fine for driving without a vignette
Romanian law (Law 226/2023, article 18) sets the fine between two and four times the 12-month price. For a Euro 6 car that is 508 RON to 1,016 RON.

Where to buy it
Buy it before you drive onto a national road, on CNAIR’s official TollRo portal, portal.etoll.ro. You give the plate number, the country of registration, the category, the Euro class and the start date.
Since 1 October 2026 vignettes are issued only through TollRo. Lorries over 3.5 t pay the TollRo distance-based toll instead.
